Hello,

here you will find some info about the slogans from here:
(slogans are not available under the wiki's licence since the companies own copyright on them)

1.
English: "Dad, when I grow up, I also want to be square."
German: "Du, Papa, wenn ich groß bin, will ich auch mal Spießer werden!"

I like this spot - the little girl transmits the message perfectly - here the German video (27 seconds).
This is a spot for LBS - a home savings and loan association.
The girl asks her hippie father about different examples of property and the father tells that all are for squares.
(square means in this context: a conservative (in regards to tradition) person that fits into the societal norms and is not in touch with the latest trends.)
But the girl does not know the term.
And in the end the girl tells: "Dad, when I grow up, I also want to be square."

2.
English: "We wake up more early."
German: "Wir stehen früher auf."

This is a slogan for the German state "Sachsen Anhalt".
They claim, that people in this country stand up at 06:39 AM.
So they wake up earlier than the average German person.
And so they will work more.

3.
English: "We can do everything but speak Standard German."
German: "Wir können alles. Außer Hochdeutsch."

This is the slogan to increase the awareness for a state's (Baden Württemberg) situation: economical performance, culture, ...
They want to transmit that everything can be done in this state (where I also live Smile.gif ), but well they can not get lose of their dialect Smile.gif.
Sound files from Swabian dialect.
Here a video.
see here for the initiative.

4.
English: "With the second eye you see better."
German: "Mit dem Zweiten sieht man besser."

this is the slogan for the tv station ZDF.
Someone hides his 2nd eye behind his hand and while he tells "with the 2nd eye you see better", you see the covering hand going away.
In this video (30 seconds) you can hear Mick Jagger saying the German sentence.
At the end of this page you can see a picture (search for the term zdf).

5.
English: "Firm as a rock in the surge."
German: "Der Fels in der Brandung."

this is a slogan for the insurance company Württembergische Versicherung
see here for a picture of the rock.

6.
English: "We demand and bring forward personalities."
German: "Wir fordern und fördern Persönlichkeiten."

This is a slogan by the University St. Gallen in Swiss

7.
English: "Try it in a gentle way."
German: "Versuch´s mal auf die sanfte Tour!"

This is a slogan from the cough drop producer Pulmoll.
the bonbons will help you get rid of problems in your throat or mouth.
Here two German videos.

8.
English: "It was never so valuable as today."
German: "Nie war er so wertvoll wie heute“

slogan for: if you have problems with your body, then they tell you should take the medicine: Klosterfrau Melissengeist

9.
English: "If it makes you beautiful..."
German: "Wenn's schee macht..."

Annemarie Wendl presented this slogan in a wonderful way for the company Müllermilch.
She is an old woman and says, well, if it makes you happy, let me drink it.

10.
English: "Well, is today already christmas?"
German: "Ja, is' denn heut' schon Weihnachten?"

This slogan is spoken by Franz Beckenbauer for the mobile service provider E-Plus.
It transmits, that it is so good and he asks, if it is already christmas, for getting such a present.
