exploring Dokuwiki as replacement for Mediawiki
From I ask questions
2011, August 9
I want to use Dokuwiki (reason: flat file system instead database usage).
The first thing I want to do is: use it as a real replacement (e.g. enable blog, cite, ...)
Because of that I've disabled for now account creation in this wiki.

2011, August 12 - I will stay with MediaWiki
- I've decided to stay with MediaWiki,
so, I updated: upgrade to Mediawiki 1.17.0 - some reasons why I went to MediaWiki again:
- the advantage of flat file vs. mysql did not come
-> too many "internal server error"s (http 500) -> either it was my provider's fault or some DokuWiki plugin
instead of "wasting" the time with spending more time on this, I went back.
Yeah, I know, throw all the stones at me...- it started all great actually, see my DokuWiki post - who knows I might give it a try in the future?
- though I'm thinking actually now to bring all my previous blog posts to MediaWiki so I can use the Semantic MediaWiki extension with them, see here
- I tried to emulate more my existing MediaWiki configuration (e.g. template, ...)
- which per se is not bad, but it took too much time
- the advantage of flat file vs. mysql did not come
2011, August 18
- a DokuWiki feature requested by me 9 days ago was implemented
FS#2305 - include link to "DokuWiki Popularity Info" results in "Popularity Feedback" plugin info page
2013, March 12
- removed it
